Atlanta Flooring FAQs
If something is on your mind, it is probably on this list. If not, call us.
How much does flooring installation cost in Atlanta?
Flooring installation costs in Atlanta vary by material, square footage, subfloor condition, and the scope of any necessary prep work. Hardwood installation typically costs more than LVP, laminate, or carpet, and refinishing existing hardwood is usually less expensive than a full replacement. We provide written quotes after an in-home assessment, never over the phone, so the estimate reflects your actual project rather than averages.
What is the best flooring for an Atlanta home?
The right flooring depends on the room, your household, and your budget. Hardwood adds the most resale value and works well in main living areas; LVP is the right choice for kitchens, basements, and mudrooms, and for homes with pets or children; Is it Time to Replace your Carpet? is best in bedrooms and basements, where comfort matters most. Your Project Manager walks through each room with you and recommends based on what actually fits your home, not what's in stock that week.
How does the shop-at-home flooring process work?
A dedicated Project Manager comes to your home with curated flooring samples selected for your project, takes measurements, and provides a written estimate within 24 hours. You see every sample in your actual lighting next to your actual furniture rather than under showroom lights. There is no charge, no obligation, and no high-pressure sales pitch. Most of our customers take a few days to decide.
How long does flooring installation take?
Most Atlanta flooring installations are completed within one to seven business days after material delivery, depending on square footage and project type. LVP, laminate, and carpet typically install in one to three days; hardwood installation runs three to seven days; hardwood refinishing runs three to five days plus drying time between coats. Your Project Manager gives you an exact day-by-day schedule before the project starts.
Does Concept Flooring offer a warranty and price match guarantee?
Yes, every Concept Flooring installation is backed by a lifetime installation warranty on products purchased through us, plus the manufacturer's product warranty on the materials. We also offer a price match guarantee against any written competitor estimate for the same product and scope of work. If something is not right after installation, Concept Flooring will make it right.
What Atlanta neighborhoods does Concept Flooring serve?
Concept Flooring serves Woodstock, Marietta, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Roswell, Canton, Kennesaw, Cumming, East Cobb, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Buckhead, and Atlanta in-town. We are based in Woodstock and most regularly work in north Atlanta and Cherokee County. If you are unsure whether we cover your area, call 770-587-3438 and we'll confirm before scheduling a consultation.
Do I need to leave my home during flooring installation?
For most flooring projects, you can remain in the home, though it depends on the scope. Hardwood refinishing requires staying out of the work area during sanding and finish drying (typically 24-48 hours per coat); installing new flooring in a single room rarely requires leaving. Whole-home installation is easier when the family stays elsewhere for two or three days. Your Project Manager walks through logistics before the project begins.
What is the difference between hardwood refinishing and replacement?
Refinishing sands the existing wear layer off your hardwood and applies a new stain and finish, typically restoring the floor to a near-new appearance for a fraction of the cost of replacement. Replacement is necessary when the existing hardwood has water damage, structural issues, or has already been refinished too many times to sand again safely. We assess the condition of your existing hardwood during the in-home consultation and recommend what's honestly needed based on your floors.
